What tools do I need to buy for fixing up a house?
The tasks involved will be doors, windows, bathroom and kitchen work, drywall, decks, roof, and so on. If you are not able to provide a full list could you at least tell me the main tools that I will be needing. I think from what I have learned so far that I might get tool’s in set at Sear’s because of the Craftsman warranty though I am not sure if it that good for power tools. Some specifics would be helpful too like how much torque or cordless or brand. thanks.

If you don’t have any tools, pick your first project and determine what tools you need and get them. Then just keep going the same way from the second project on.
BTW, Craftsman tools are very good. lightpulse
Stay away from Craftsman construction power tools. Junk !! Craftsman mechanic tools are good tho. Makita makes a durable line of power tools. AEG makes a great jigsaw, Others will add more, Good Luck Rick C
Hammer, nails, crosscut saw, keyhole saw, screwdriver set, level (2 foot at least 4 is better), tape measure 16 or 25 foot, 3/8 drill motor, flash light, panel carrying tool, putty knife, saw horses, workmate type work bench, mud knife kit, paint brushes, sand paper, drill bits, wood auger bits, brace for the bits, a plumb bob and a chalk line, a framing square, side cutters, lineman pliers, wire strippers, voltmeter (analog), voltage tester, outlet tester, mud bucket, shop vac, broom dust pan and a garbage can. This is a basic tool set.
Add clamps, a cordless drill motor 3/8″ no more than 14.4 volts unless you are very big, a power saw cordless, a table saw, 120 volt, an air compressor and air drive tools as needed, a jointer, a bench top planer, router and router table, miscellaneous bits and bit holders.
Not all of these are needed at once but this will get you started, also a large wood lathe, a drill press, a mig welder and a stick welder, propane torchkit. I know I have forgotten many things, another nice item is a 6kw genset to run the tools while your power is out. This is why the construction industry is so specialized, it’s too expensive to DIY everything. Add also a set of wrenches, socket and open end, pick, shovel, pipe wrenches. Good luick. Take lots of money. Jim W
