What is the best affordable power tool to get the lug nuts off my car tire?
I drive a 2004 Hyundai Accent (all known as ‘Headache’) and I am thinking about buying a 12 Volt 1/2″ Emergency Impact Wrench. The website for it is http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92349&xcamp=google&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=cpc&zmam=33951326&zmas=12&zmac=112&zmap=92349
Any thoughts?
Is there another power tool that someone can recommend to get tight lug nuts off?

sure that would work id just buy a four way lug wench and do it by hand but people harbor freight woul d or could help you you can get them at walmarts or any parts store as well kelly_f_1999
Harbor freight sells a lot of tools that are pretty cheap, but keep in mind that you get what you pay for. Having said that, if you are just going to use it for lug nuts, it should do the job but I would recommend a socket for your lug nuts that is impact rated. Impact wrenched are what the tire shops use all day long to remove lug nuts, but don’t use it to tighten them, you have no control over the torque and can break the studs easily. Always put them on the old fashioned way, or spend the extra money and buy a “torque stick” rated at the correct torque for your lugs. Ben W
that only puts out 150 ft lbs of torque
if the lug nuts are on tight it won’t even take them off !!! randy_ishere
you first have to figure out how often you will need to use it,
then storage of the tool, when not using it.
then as mentioned is cost compared to quality.
my experience is I have had 2 flat tires in 20 years. so the
bottom line is a waste of money, ridingorracing
Personally, I wouldn’t touch it. It doesn’t look up to the job. You’d be better off with a good solid socket, a breaker bar and either a speed brace or a 4 way “spider” wrench..
Just as effective, cheaper, and less to go wrong.
A decent impact gun would cost $150-$250.
