Is there a special fool to loosen the fittings on the rack & pinion steering box?
Seems awfully tight in there.

The Modern Automobile Built To Thwart The Consumer From Repairing It Themselves,While Being Built Of Inferior Parts That Constantly Need Replacing,At Phenomenal Prices,U May Need To Pay A Technician Replace The Hoses,To Say If Ur On The Internet Asking What Tools U Need To Replace A Hydraulic Line,U Probably Do Not Need To Be Working On The Modern Automobile THE DAWG

there are special tools for every situation, does your mustang require it for this job? No. Would a special tool make it easier? Yes. booga1134

It is not an easy job because of the limited space in which you have to work.At the rack,I have used what ia called a crows foot.It is a open end wrench that connects to a rachet. With an extention,or combination of extentions, you should be able to get into a position where you can get it loose.Although you may only get 1/8th of a turn at a time.Good luck!! thetdw

I agree with the post stating that you will require a crows foot. I believe the fitting sizes are 18mm. rakel-de-freitas@rogers.com
