On the buidling site where I am going to work they only have these yellow 3-pin industrial 110V sockets (which alos require different plugs). Are there any converters or transformers, which I can plug in to use my standrad 240V tools? Thanks in advance for all the help! Mike

Andy asked:

Im rebuilding an engine and my trusty haynes manual has recommended to use a honing tool and a power drill on the inside of the cylinders. It doesnt go into alot of detail. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to what the honing tool actually does and if its absolutely nessessary and what the end result will be.
The cylinders are showing no signs of scoring or burning but are a tad glazed.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Do any of you nice people know the proper term for a power tool that has a hopper on the top for the concrete mix, you hold it in your hand and use it to re-point foundations? It basically looks like a gun that shoots concrete! I’m trying to find one to buy and can’t find it anywhere. Thanks in advance!
Oh, and if you know a source to get one, that would be fantastic, thanks again!

I saw a commercial for a new tool that can be used as either a drill or a jig saw and didnt catch the brand name or the name of the tool. I went to Sears and they had no idea what I was talking about. I looked on Black and Deckers website and couldnt find it there so I dont think that was them. Thanks in advance!

How do I deduct my hand tools for my real estate practice and client party?

Two in one question. I am a real estate broker and I manage properties. In the process I have to do repairs on certain properties and have purchased hand tools for this purchase. I don’t want to have to capitalize and all that for a 3.99 screwdriver so how do I deduct these purchases.

Part two. If I throw a client party at my house, can I write off the entire amount or is it subject to the 50% entertainment stuff.

Thanks in advance for your answer.
I have several hand tools so the screwdriver is an example. I can’t imagine I have to fill out a sect 179 deduction for each one

How do I lay tile in my “foyer”?

Spock asked:

I have a small area in front of my back door that I would like to tile. I recently ripped up the old linoleum and all I have now is a sub floor. It’s hard to keep clean, and looks gross.
My husband keeps saying he will tile it, but never finds the time. I do not want to hire a handy man since times right now are tight. And this is not an emergency. I have done other home repairs and remodeling without his help.
I have a wet saw for tiles, and all the other tools I believe I might need. But i am looking for someone who can give me step by step instructions on how to lay the tile down. How to measure, where to start, how to put down the tile glue, etc. My knowledge of construction is quite limited. So if explained in a simple manner would be appreciated. And a list of the items needed to complete this job.
The tiles I will be laying are 12″ ceramic tiles (already purchased) and the area is approximatly 3′ x 4′ . There are doorways on each side. Basement door, outside door, bathroom door, and an entry way into my kitchen.
Thanks in advance.
