I need a good set of tools for some things around the house, possible renovation later, and some sidework. I was thinking about buying a 24 volt firestorm kit from lowes (2 batteries, charger, hammer drill, circ. saw, recip. saw, and a jig saw) for $220. Ive been told that some of the older firestorm tools are junk, havent heard anything bad about the new ones and my experience with a little 12 volt drill wasnt bad. Comes with a 2 year warrantee and lowes 4 year extended protection for $60 which offers 100% parts and labor coverage for mechanical and electrical failures. Should i buy the firestorm kit? $280 for good power tools for 6 years sounds ok to me or should i just cough up 300 more and get dewalt tools??

P.S. It was hard to decide what topic to put this question in.

We were fine up until I started asking questions like “you don’t seem to be as into me as I am you” etc. and he kind of freaked out. He told me he would rather just “be friends” but still kisses me and stuff. He just got out of a 10 year relationship and is scared to jump right into another serious one. But we still talk every night and hang out a lot and plan on spending new years together. It’s a really weird situation.

Anyway, about 3 weeks ago when things were fine I got him a Leatherman Wave (a super nice “tool” pocket knife) and got his initials engraved on the side of it. He works in construction and hunts so I thought it would be a pretty cool gift.

Creepy to still give it to him or would it be okay? I mean, what else am I going to do with it? I don’t expect anything from him, of course.

And I have been working at UPS for almost a year and I like “hands-on” jobs, and I told my parents that I want to go to college for engineering so I can be a construction worker.

My parents are foreign and a little racists but they clearly said to me, “WHAT?! You want to work like a mexican? They don’t get paid a lot!”

But I have always wanted to get down and dirty and use tools and build homes/buildings since I was a child. I was just wondering if I do be able to be as one, would I be able to make a living and make enough money for a family as a construction worker?
