SB asked:

I’m raking the moss off the lawn by hand, and it is taking a long time.

Is there a power tool that can do this job ?
If so, what is it called and where can I get one ?

Thanks

For woodcarving/whittling is an expensive power carving tool better than the cheaper Dremel brand?

I’m just getting started in woodcarving small sculptures and I’d like to get a power tool to help out. I see that there are some that cost $300-800 (like the “Mastercarvers Micro Pro”) and then there is the Dremel tool and flexishaft accessory for less than $100. I don’t mind spending the extra money if it’s better product–I plan on using it a long time. Does anyone know the benefits of the more expensive products? What’s the difference?

Where can I find relatively safe power tools for kids to use? For example, a band saw that doesn’t cut skin?

One of my friends has a bandsaw that doesn’t cut skin, making it safer to use with children. However, it doesn’t have a brand on it and the guy got it at a long time ago at a store that went out of business a few years back. Since then, I’ve been looking for power tools that are relatively safer to use with children (and by children, I mean ages 11-14) with complete supervision. Does anyone know of a place where I can find tools that are designed to work with maximum safety, such as a band saw that doesn’t cut skin? Thanks for your help.

Vin asked:

I am trying to make my basement look a little more presentable. I would like to add cheap wood paneling. I have never done anything like this and have limited knowledge. Right now the walls are concrete i know i cant add the wood paneling right to the concrete because of moisture but im looking for the easiest and cheapest way to do this because im only renting the house. I am wondering if just adding furring strips right to the concrete and attaching the wood paneling to that would be enough to eliminate any chance of moisture for a very very long time. Any information on this would be helpful and any suggestions as to tools and what not would be helpful. Again i have never done anything like this before but im not incompetent when it comes to construction.

If you leave your car at an Auto Repair shop how soon can they put a lean on it while you are trying to pay?

If you leave your car at an Auto repair shop, and take a little longer than they might like for you to make a payment for the repairs that they do, how long do you have to make payment before they can put a lean against your vehicle? What else can they do if you take a long time to pay?

What exactly is a “Lean” anyways?
