I have a 6ft long box shaped (sorry not really into this sort of stuff) and i need to cut it so i can make a skate-able rail. Problem is i dont have any power tools or Oxy-Aceylene torch so i’m kind of screw. Its not a nessicity i just want one. Any ideas?

What is it called? It’s small enough to be used with one hand and comes with a disc for cutting wood, masonry, metal, etc. (interchangeable discs, I think, or a one-disc-cuts-all type of thing). It showed a man placing it on a piece of drywall or plywood and him guiding it down his mark/line with ease (much less bulky than skill saw). IThe one advertisement I saw in Popular Science magazine looked like it was made overseas (the brand)… maybe Germany, and I thought I recalled its color being black and orange…? I want to get it for my dad for Christmas, so any information is appreciated.

Multimaster seems a great investment and easy to use. Initial use is for hard to fit laminate flooring — casings, etc. where other power tools just do not work.

I own a portable power planer but ideally need to adjust the cutter rotation speed. As far as I know all portable planners are fixed with just one speed setting but I have been told that it’s possible to change the speed by using a dimmer switch. Essentially cutting the power cable and wiring in the dimmer switch. This probably sounds quite dangerous which is why I would probably get an electrian to do the job if it can be done.

I’ve had them for many years and they are thick and hardy, so what is the best tools to cut them down to the soil?

Students taking this class will work on a pre-selected project using either hand tools and/or small power tools. The project will include most phases of woodworking skills: cutting, gluing, sanding and assembly. Materials for this project will be furnished, however, students are encouraged to bring their own power or hand tools to use.

Any suggestions?
