Pro Tools LE 7 on Power PC Mac G4?
I am in the process of purchasing the Digidesign Mbox2. My current computer is a Macbook with 1 GHZ RAM that runs on OS x 10.4.8. I have a Power-PC based Mac G4 that am planning on fixing up to run Pro-Tools LE. Will Pro-Tools LE 7.x run on the older G4 if I have it upgraded to run on OS X 10.4.8 or should I concider purchasing a new computer. I would like to not have to use my Macbook for recording, but am open to the idea.

It really depends on how old the G4 you’re hoping to use is…
In my experience, I would not try and use Pro Tools on a G4 if it’s only a Single Processor G4 - you’re probably not going to be happy with the perfomance** and you might want to find another host for Pro Tools.
**This also depends on what type of work you’re doing in Pro Tools (how many tracks, how many plug ins, how long the sessions are… ) these are all factors in determining the speed of the machine you should go with.
Great alternative might be a used / refurb Mac Mini - (Cheap and Intel) Pro Tools Guru
