I need to demo a tile floor in house. The area is about 800sq. ft. Is there any kind of power I can use?
Tenacious-Tees.com asked:
I need to have it done in 1 day. I’ve heard there was a power tool to use, but I don’t know what it is, any ideas?
I think I’m going to use an impact drill, but the tiles are 12 X 12 on a concrete slab.

800 sq ft is a small area just use a roofing shovel and the tiles just pop up as you scrape with one person it would take about 3 hours with two it would only take one hour
never found a floor that took any longer
every town has an area where the illegals hang out looking for work
stop by there and get two for about three hours and twenty bucks all done and easy as ever Imagine
What type of tile is it? What was it stuck down with? What type of sub floor do you have, wood or concrete?
Your turn. Tom’s World
A chipping hammer, also called an air-hammer or jack hammer will make the job go faster but you still have to be careful not to chip the concrete. You can rent one at your local rent-a -center or home improvement store. Just removing the ceramic tile is not enough. Its usually difficult to remove the thin-set (mortar) if you don’t get it all off smoothly you will have to use some sort of leveling compound to skim-coat the floor. Also be sure to address any cracks in the foundation with a crack suppressant prior to setting the new tile. Michelle L
