There are a number of ways to import files. The easiest is to go to File > Import > and select what you want to import.

The metronome is called a click track. It can be disabled by selecting Option > Click. Other options for it can be found in Setup > Click/Count Off or in the transport window (Window > Transport).

A good plug-in to throw on almost every vocal is a compressor. A compressor reduces a sound’s dynamics above a specified threshold by a chosen ratio. In vocals, its effects can be heard by bringing out constants. Other good plug-ins for vocals are reverb (makes them sound more live) and a de-esser (helps to reduce sibilance which is the hissing sound made when you say the letter ’s’)

Plug-ins can be added in the Mix Window by clicking on one of the insert blocks and selecting your plug-in.

Good luck and have fun. KDecka
