Reseat the hard drive. Once you do, the computer should recognize its presence. Jebus

you failed to mention whether you have an install cd, and type of computer, and the OS affected or being used, You need to reinstall the OS. if you can use the F12 key, select boot from cd, and then select repair, if that does not do it, then you will have to use the restore program. woolybooly

The first thing to try is enter BIOS setup and manually re-detect the hard drive. Windows can’t boot until the BIOS “sees” the HD.
Look in your manual, or get the manual from the manufacturer’s support site, to see what key to press to enter Setup. Once in there look for an option to “detect” removable drives. Once the HD is found save the settings and exit Setup.
    Hope that helps.
    Good luck,
