hey gang. can anyone tell me which power tool is the best. dewalt or makita?

i’m a working plumber and want to get a 24 volt cordless sds hammer drill. the lithium ion is a bit pricey so prob settle for nicad.have heard mixed reports about the dewalt and makita, the makita having bad batteries and the dewalt shaking itself apart. any of this true. any help would be great!!

    Anything cordless in the hammer drill arena will not be worthwhile… Go corded for a tool like that.. Before anything - please buy American… I know Makita is Japanese.. DeWalt is American I believe… compfivestar

    We just happen to have both Dewalts and Makitas in our shop. They’ve both had problems with batteries, chucks and motors going bad. The new Rigid drills seem to be doing better. Nomadd

    I’ve killed three dewalts in the time my makita has been flawless and still runs like new , although one battery is not lasting very long but after 5 years of near daily use , no complaints Fire1427

    My husband has the Makita, Dewalt and Milwaukee. The Makita is lighter and has an LED light on it that’s a handy feature. The Milwaukee overheated many times on him, and says the Makita has more power and lasts longer than then others. The battery charger is the best of the bunch since it has a cooling fan in it.
