Sjpüpål asked:

I need some advice on something.

At my company we do a lot of electrical types of drawings. We actually design solar systems and misc. electrical things, and we are looking for a good computer program for this.

I used CAD in school, and it’s kind of what I need, except it has waay more features than we need and costs waaay too much.

Do you guys know of any good 2d (or 3d??) programs that we could use to make our drawings?

It just needs your basic stuff really…electrical symbols, normal construction symbols, line tools for colour and stuff….you know.

Our budget is up to $500 or so, we don’t want to go over but we can if we have to.

Cheers for the help mates
ps, it’s not electronics, so that is not required

With a budget of only up to $500 the Autodesk and MicroStation programs are not going to be any help to him. The liscenses for these programs are way out of his price range. I do not currently no of any programs he can use with that strict budget, but I will do a little research and see what I can come up with.

It’s not 100% leagel, but you can get free trials of the software for free and use that 30 days at a time. Or you could go the next step and download a key generator and use it. However your best bet is to go with Autodesk of Microstation. Save up and get one. It’s wort it. 100% leagel is the way to be.

P.S. you may want to check out Autodesk’s website. They may have a stand-alone appliction that may fit your needs.
