Easy or difficult to fix power window for 95 Avalon?
The front drivers side power window on my 95 Avalon stopped working. When I press the button, I hear a little sound like the motor is trying to do its job, but can’t. So maybe it’s the motor, or a gear, or something.
Is this something that I, a person with average mechanical ability, could fix, if I had the service manual and tools? Or is it best left to a mechanic? Thanks.

Since the motor is trying to work but the window is not moving, the regulator is the problem, which is not at all an unusual repair. You can probably do it with a manual. The tricky part is getting the motor on the new regulator. That regulator is a cable type, and when you put the new motor on it, there is a chance of the cable coming unwound off the spool (that will make more sense when you see it), so be very careful. The small bolts that hold the motor to the regulator have a torx bit head, so if you don’t have any of those you will need a small set. Good luck and God Bless! toyodave
