what mark would you give my english homework?
this is my ncea lvl 2… which is the equal to grade 12 in the states. homework. we had to make an interview, such as what you would see in a magazine, with whoever u want…..
As this dreaded haired and unwashed sorry excuse for a 21st century man glide his way over to me, I admit I found myself repressing gags under his appearance and stench. He reaches out to shake his hand with mine, and as he does so I notice his yellow fingernails that are thicker than smaller men’s fingers and as long as any guitar pick. The man is wearing ripped blue jeans, which were slowly turning brown due to the steady amounts of mud and dirt which find refuge on these never washed articles. His chapped lips open as he utters words along the lines of a greeting to me. The exact words are lost to me as I am focusing too much on the few stained brown teeth he has left.
Like many of us, John Butler was drawn to music in his very young years. Like most of us he was drawn to picking up the guitar. However our obsessions of becoming our on stage heroes, are ones we usually never follow or forget about. For John his obsessions never died, leading to the man standing before me now who arm is not complete without a guitar in his hand. I introduce myself. Then ask him a few boring questions I’m sure he’s heard 100times before. He smiles at this, but answers each with more respect than it deserves. “I was attracted to the guitar from before I can remember, but didn’t ever play a note until I was 8” I look to move onto my next question. Which if I ever asked it, would have been; did you ever have lessons or just teach yourself. However I never asked this question as John Butler interrupted before I could. “What you really should ask is when I really picked up music, the guitars a mere tool music’s the art form, and music’s the important part.”
Johns obviously deeper in character as an artist then I first thought and although he certainly looks the part he insists “don’t call me hippie ‘cause the way that I look”, and once you talk to him it really becomes quite apparent that his looks are functional rather then for appearance. He explains to me. “My fingernails take hours of work to get them this way”. He puts a paint thickener on them everyday, which strengthens the nail beyond that of any nail should perhaps. He also grows them so they are an inch out from his fingertip. “1 inch the perfect length for any pick” why are guitar picks so important to the length of his fingernails? Because he uses each nail as if it were one.
Although from first impressions you could be forgiven for thinking Johns life is incredibly non-stressful. John finds himself among the world’s busiest people. As well as independently songwriting all songs for the John Butler Trio, he also produces every album release. He tours the world constantly, and at the same time is protesting strongly against the mining of uranium in Australia. How he manages to keep up with all of this is “a mystery even for myself, but I guess you just always find time for the things your dedicated to”. And it’s the political message he preaches that john cares for most. The message of unity between you and the people in your direct life, and between you and all people on this earth. Of peace with your social and ecological environments. And of harmony between all things great and small. Why he says, he choose to include a pamphlet, in his latest album release about the effects of uranium mining in Australia. “The whole process uses 20million liters of water a day, water we just don’t have to spare for a mineral, when are people are not getting enough clean water in the areas mined everyday.” On top of this he is also petitioning to the Australian and international governments about climate change and racism issues. As is responsible for Australia changing so they now source there cement from a more reliable source, halving the carbon dioxide emissions construction of Australian roads use to release into our atmosphere. “I just do what I can, because I can do it.”
John Butler is obviously more than what first meets the eye. He may appear to some as an unwashed hippie. He appears so others as simply a brilliant guitarist and song writer. But what he truly is, is a preacher, who articulates his words though the medium of spoken word, as well as music. Suggesting proof to the age old saying ‘don’t judge a book’ or in this case a man ‘by its cover’
its just a first draft, but iv run outa time to add more…..
what mark would you give this?

Can somebody check those sentences? and correct spelling and grammar mistakes?
Queer theory isn’t a theory in the classical meaning of this word.
Queer theory isn’t, and don’t want to be, any of closed descriptions of sexuality. It’s not defining the meanig of therms like femininity, masculinity, homosexuality and related. It wants to destabilisate meaning of seksuality, which was described by a culture. Queer theory is showing ambiguity of terms like sex, seksuality: it’s proving their meaningless. This theory shows that every stable patterns of “femininity”, “masculinity” or another “sexual patterns” are only a cultural construction. Their stability is a result of some violence process:
-mechanisms of subjugation ( which are made by producing in our minds “I” that is subordinated to cultural “norm” and be a aurorepresion and self-control tool),
or
-blocking (putting yourself at the box of terms like femininity, masculinity, homosexuality)
In recent years queer theory has come to be used differently, sometimes as an umbrella term for a coalition of culturally marginal sexual self-identifications
We display 5 sexual orientations: (…)
We display those gender identity: (…)
It questions heteronormative world
It disorders binary of thinking
not definition is a power of queer theory
Now “excluded” have a voice, they’re talking about culture and social reports from their own perspective.
How to describe something which doesn’t exist? Don’t describe.
Describe in this the way which will destabilize terms like “femininity”, “masculinity”, “sexuality” and show that those terms mean something only to bound.
Finally, Queer theory is a anty- and –post- theory, which shows that queer is a space without a meaning, which unfortunetelly mean from the cultural, normative grant. Queer theory ia anty- and –post- theory, which bigotedly, with fire in the eyes destroys, annihilates its own study objects. And how to call it a theory?
queer - originally a synonym for “odd” or “unusual,” the word evolved into an anti-gay insult in the last century, only to be reclaimed by defiant gay and lesbian activists who chanted: “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it.”
Now “queer” is sneaking into the mainstream — and taking on a hipster edge as a way to describe any sexual orientation beyond straight.
Queer theory embraces the notion of identity - what is culturally seen as normal versus subversive. Theorists claim that identities are not fixed - they cannot be categorized and labeled - because identities consist of many varied components and that to categorize by one characteristic is wrong. Queer theorists argue that everybody should be classed as an individual identity and not put in the collective basket of feminists or colored or the like.
For polish ears „queer theory” sounds so eleganty, particularly for those who doesn’t know the meanig of this phrase. Among polish experts accepted was translation “queer” as “odmieniec”. It saves the main meaning „queer” as “dziwny”, “odmienny” and shows pejoration of this word: “odmieniec” as “dziwak”.
Urgent,., can you please help me summarize this paragraph?
“The year 1868, Meiji period launched an economic expansion. Meiji rulers take advantaged the concept of a free market economy and imported British and North American forms of free enterprise capitalism. Japanese went to study overseas and Western scholars were hired to teach in Japan. Many of today’s establishment were founded at that time. Japan became the most developed nation in Asia.
From the year 1960s to 1980s, the overall real economic growth has been called a “Japanese miracle”: a 10% average in the 1960s, a 5% average in the 1970s and a 4% in the 1980s. The economy growth slowed down in 1990s because of the after-effects of Japanese asset price bubble and domestic policies. In 2000, the government has failed to revive economic growth and were further flattened out by the global slowdown. But, the economy then showed strong signs of recovery after 2005. GDP growth for that year was 2.8% with calculated fourth quarter expansion of 5.5%, surpassing the growth rates of the US and European Union during the sam period. Japan is the second largest economy in the world after the United States, at around US$4.5 trillion in terms of nominal GDP and third after the United States and China in terms of purchasing power parity. Banking, insurance, real estate, retailing, transportation, telecommunications and construction are all major industries. Japan has a large industrial capacity and is home to some of the largest, leading and most technologically advanced producers of motor vehicles, electronic equipment, machine tools, steel and nonferrous metals, ships, chemicals, textiles and processed foods. Japan has a low unemployment rate, around 4%. Japan’s GDP per hour worked is the world’s 19th highest as of 2007. Big Mac Index shows that Japanese workers get the highest salary per hour in the world. Some of the largest enterprises in Japan include Toyota Motor, NTT DoCoMo, Canon, Honda, Takeda Pharmaceutical, Sony, Nintendo, Nippon Steel, Tepco, Mitsubishi Estate, and 711. Japan ranks 12th of 178 countries in the Ease of Doing Business Index 2008 and it has one of the smallest governments in the developed world. Agricultural businesses in Japan often utilize a system of terrace farming and crop yields are high. 13% of Japan’s land is cultivated. Japan accounts for nearly 15% of the global fish catch, second only to China. Japan’s agricultural sector is protected at high cost.”

I am writing a book report on They Say, I Say: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing. Now if you read the book you know that the whole thing is basically a bunch of fill in the blank sentences to help improve writing, obviously reporting on a bunch of fill in the blanks is not that easy. My teacher just wants us to prove we read the book. Can anyone help me on where to go next or basic ideas to make it better? Thanks for any help.

They Say, I Say: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing
By: Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein
Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein have put together a wonderful resource for intermediate to advanced writers in the form of They Say, I Say: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing. The book is a very comprehensive tool that can help not so great writers improve their abilities and advanced writers add depth and personality to their work. Graff and Birkenstein have put together basic templates for writers to use as their own to help those of all skill levels improve their writing through comprehensive techniques. While I would say this book is a must have throughout high school and college English courses because it sets up user friendly forms for students to use for improvement and advancement in their writing others would say that it is a stifle in the creativity of their work and that it is an elementary and unnecessary tool. I beg to differ with the critics of this book, however. It is through this basic guide that the techniques provided have been proven effective.
Throughout this book the authors provide templates for their readers to use in their writing, a basic form for construction to create well written, more logical pieces of work. Graff and Birkenstein have presented these…
i need help on angles of elevation and depression?
The leaning tower of pisa is located in pisa, italy and was built over a period of about two centuries as a bell tower for a cathedral plaza. the foundation work was started on August 7, 1173. construction was stopped many times, but the tower was finally completed around 1360. historians believe that the lean was evident, before construction stopped, at about the time the third level was being added. poor soil conditions and the weight of the structure are the two main factors affecting the lean of the tower. in 1817, measurements of the lean or inclination were taken using a plumb line. a plumb line is a string with a weight attached. suspended from the top floor and stretching down to the ground, architects measured the distance from the base of the foundation out to the plumb bob, and found that the tower was leaning about 4.88degrees from the vertical. it was not until 1911that precise measurements of the towers inclination began to be measured yearly using a surveyors tool called a theodolite. currently, the tower measures 55.863 meters high from the foundation and 55 meters from the ground.
1) find the distance from the base of the building out to the altitude.
2) compute the angle that the tower makes with the ground
3) how many degrees is the tower leaning from the vertical
4) how many more degrees is the tower leaning than in 1817

I NEED help on this natural inventions project? PLEASE?
I’m basically just going to type the handout:
Objective: Design a new invention-part tool and part animal-that are both useful and playful.
Part 1: The Design Process
1.Study the many special characteristics that help animals leap, run, swing, swim, grab, or fly.
2.Identify, sketch, and describe a special characteristic that inspires you, such as the ability of a snake to slither.
3.Combine the characteristic with a machine or tool to help you get a job done. For example, how might octopus arms inspire a better construction crane?
4.Illustrate a collage or diagram of your invention. Does it have a special name? If so, include this somewhere on your collage or diagram.
Part 2:Choose 1 of the following to complte in addition to part 1 above.
5.Create an advertisement for your natural invention to promote how it works and what it can do.
6. Write a story or myth about your invention, sharing how its special features could create a better world and lead to work, play, and adventure

help with an economics question kind of long?
You have been working for home-building companies for a number of years. You enjoy construction work, and now you want to start your own home-building company that you will run yourself.
You quit your previous job that had been paying $40,000 per year. You have $40,000 in your savings account that you withdraw to start this company. The savings account had been paying you 5% interest. Because the $40,000 from your savings is not enough to start the company, you also borrow $2,300,000 from the bank. (The bank manager is willing to loan you such a large amount because he knows of your reputation and experience in the home-building industry.) You use the money to hire workers and buy the tools, machinery, and raw materials with which you will build houses.
The cost per worker is $20,000 per year. In your first year, you plan to hire 48 workers to do the construction work, which means that the annual labor cost of your company will be $960,000 (48 x $20,000). With 48 workers, your company can build seven houses.
You must also buy raw materials–land, wood, nails, plasterboard, and so forth. Each house requires $20,000 worth of raw materials. The cost of raw materials for seven houses is $140,000 (7 x $20,000).
Finally, the bank charges 6% interest on your loan. The interest cost is $138,000 (6% of $2,300,000).
3.1. Based on this scenario, what are the total explicit costs for your construction company?
A. $1,280,000
B. $42,000
C. $2,300,000
D. $1,238,000
E. $960,000
If you take the time to read this thank you and ifyou can please explain
also please help my with finding the implicit cost not just the explicit
