My next door neighbor for over 3 weeks now has been drilling, sawing, bashing, and goodness knows what else VERY loudly. It often wakes me from sleep. My children (2, 5, 9), especailly the 2 year old, get scared and cannot get to sleep because of this. He starts at about 7.00pm and often doesn’t stop until 2-3:00 am. I don’t mind him working, but he does it excessivly loudly. I get on well with all my neighbors, and I don’t want to cause any tention, but it’s causing my children to be growchy during the day due to lack of sleep. Should I say anything, or just hope he stops soon?

How do I ask my husbands best friend for my house keys back politely? He comes and goes as he pleases. I have been close to calling the cops on him thinking its a thief. I asked him to call before he comes and he does. The problem is I go to bed at 8 p.m. and he calls at 11p.m.!!!!!! Im changing the automatic garage keypad code but he has keys to the door. The problem is that I can’t park my truck in the garage cuz he has his construction tools all over my garage. My husband doesn’t know what to do or say.
He has the keys because he was working on one of my bedrooms (putting texture and borders.) He is suppose to do the whole house but it doesnt seem like he has plans on doing anything for a while.

I live in a residential area and was wondering what people think about neighbors using loud equipment (leaf blower, lawn mower, edger, etc.) early in the morning. I think before 9am is too early, and waiting until 10am on weekends would be courteous and thoughtful. But then again I do sleep later than most. I know construction is different, I’m not talking about that. Just neighbors. At what time do you think it’s socially accptable to use loud tools in the backyard in a residential area?
