120v power plug in ford ranger?
Nana asked:
i have a 2000 ford ranger. i saw on some of the newer trucks they have a 120v plug on the back of the truck. we do alot of contracting work and i was wondering if there was a way to put an outlet on the back of our ranger so we can run power tools off of the truck w/o having an ugly power inverter in the back of the bed?

Hide the ugly power inverter under the bed (or elsewhere), hard wire it to your electrical system, and run wires to an outlet in the bed wall. If you do this, make sure everything is adequately weather-proofed. (And rated appropriately for your use.)
You should fuse things appropriately and have a means of de-energizing the inverter when you are not using it.
There is no getting around the need for an inverter unless you want to put a 120VAC generator in somewhere. KamehamehaV
